Creamy Dessert: Leche Flan

Life has been good to me the past days and I am just so thankful to God that I was able to celebrate the holidays feeling good. Anyway, even though I had to spend Christmas dinner without one my favorite desserts, the year allowed me to have it on New Year’s eve before it left.

So here’s one of my favorite. Leche flan or crèmè caramel.

Now, before shopping for the ingredients, make sure that you have all the equipment needed for cooking.

• steamer pan
• mixing bowl
• egg beater
• aluminum container
• foil

10 pieces eggs
1 can evaporated milk
1 can condensed milk
1 cup brown sugar

• Separate the yolks from the whites. You would only need the yolks for richer and creamier effect. Then add the evaporated milk and condensed milk. Mix well.

• Caramelize brown sugar by putting ample amount of water, or melt it directly in the aluminum container.

• Pour the egg mixture in the aluminum containers with caramelized sugar. Cover with foil.

• Steam for forty-five minutes. Best served when refrigerated.

It’s just so easy, right? You don’t need a special occasion to celebrate for life is always worth celebrating. Add a little sweetness to it.
